Education Advocacy

Just Listen to the Labels We Use to Describe Our Kids....

Intellectually Disturbed.... Learning Disabled.... Emotionally Disturbed...

The Result? Kids who are hands-on learners get "identified."

While the United States Education System's global ranking remains in the middle of all countries tested, the numbers of children who "don't fit in" continues to rise. Despite the fact that Learning Theory proves that a hands-on approach is best, few teachers have been trained in project-based instruction.

For Parents:

Your child is our priority. We realize there is nothing more important to parents than providing the best possible avenue for a successful future for their children. This means our children need to graduate high school and follow their bliss, that thing that motivates their heart and soul. Because all children learn differently, at Inspired Learning we are not fond of the medical model of "SPECIAL EDUCATION", instead we believe all children, regardless of age are differently-abled.

If your son or daughter is struggling in school and you are wrestling with what to do, please call us before you agree to an EVALUATION.  We can review academic records and report cards and provide you with a COMPLIMENTARY INTAKE SESSION to determine if you really need to go down this road.

We are here to assist you with your child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan, attend meetings with you and advise you on next steps to ensure a collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship is maintained between you and your child’s educational TEAM.  As the saying goes, "You attract more flies with sugar than with salt."  Our approach is that of MINDFUL MEDIATION.

On the other hand, if you feel you have exhausted all avenues of communication, we are here to help with that as well.  We work closely with a skilled area attorney and can connect you with his office if needed.  So, if you are struggling to ensure your child gets the best possible academic experience, call us.  We can help.

  2. Learning Disabled - LD
  3. Specific Learning Disability - SLD
  4. Emotionally Disturbed - ED
  5. Other Health Impaired - OHI
  6. Autism Spectrum Disorder - ASD
  7. Attention Deficit Disorder - ADD
  8. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD
  9. Pervasive Developmental Delay - PDD

Holistic Education Advocacy Has the Ability To:

  • Remove negative patterns around learning so as to increase self-esteem
  • Increase organizational skills – sometimes referred to as “Executive Functioning”
  • Instruct self-soothing techniques through Mindfulness Meditation and Self-Hypnosis
  • Build self-confidence in learning
  • Improve writing & reading
  • Improve the ability to recognize and respond to negative emotions
  • Decrease anxiety and depression

In 1978 Janet Wilson coined the phrase, "differently-abled."

We have always built upon kids' strengths to enhance learning.
